These vessels were built by Hike Metal Products in Wheatly Ontario Canada, and christened in Kingston, Ontario in November of 2010. The Ontario Explorer is based on Lake Ontario, and the Huron Explorer is based on Lake Huron.
These vessels are equipped to gillnet, trawl, stock fish, and conduct hydro-acoustic surveys and other scientific research on the Great Lakes.
