“BLUE HERON 9” and its sister ship “BLUE HERON 8”, were both designed by E.Y.E. Marine Consultants to Transport Canada regulations. E.Y.E. Marine Consultants was contracted to do the design for the new vessel due to the remarkable performance of “BLUE HERON 8″. This 200-passenger tour boat belongs to The Blue Heron Company cruises, which is operating around the Flowerpot Islands of Georgian Bay on Lake Huron. The vessel is intended to cruise at about 25 knots with triple water-jet drives and 2700 kw total power. Fitted with Lexan bottom panels, it allows passengers to look down into the water below. The vessel was built by MetalCraft Marine in Kingston, Ontario.
